Important Enrolment Information Year 6 into Year 7

  • for all Y7 enrolment procedures please visit Selective High Schools and note application for Y7 enrolment at a Selective School must be made in Y5, the entrance exam is conducted in Y6
  • for latter year enrolment information read Merewether High Y8-Y12 Enrolment Policy
  • there is no entrance test for Year 8 to Year 12, positions are offered based on applications received and are subject to availability of a position

Entry into Year 7 2025

Applications for Year 7 2024 have closed. Applications for Year 7 2025 commence later this year for current Year 5 students. Information and dates will be listed here when they are confirmed. Entry to Years 8 - 12

Applications for latter year positions for 2025 will open on 21 June 2024 and close on 22 July 2024.

It is suggested the following information be included with the application:

  • a covering letter
  • a copy of your child's birth certificate
  • proof of citizenship or permanent residency
  • copies of the last two years school reports - including first semester of current year
  • a copy of your child's most recent NAPLAN results
  • copies of academic awards
  • any other information which may assist the panel to assess your child's academic achievements

All applications are considered by a panel consisting of the Principal and Deputy Principals. The panel meets in Term 3 and applicants are advised of the outcome in Term 4. Waiting lists are established and these remain current until the end of Term 1 the following year. A new application must be lodged each year if you wish to be considered for future placement.
