Welcome to Term 4, our last of a very busy and challenging year for everyone. We are looking forward to welcoming students back in week 3 and 4 with the roadmap returning all students back to school
We are looking forward to welcoming students back in week 3 and 4 with the roadmap returning all students back to school. When students return, we will discuss subject changes for Year 11 and sign off on leadership passports and bronze, silver and gold awards for all year groups, as we have extended the due date till Friday 12 November.
The assessment period for years 7-10 due to be held in week 6 will be negotiated by faculties and teachers and communicated to students. NESA has allowed schools to have freedom with 2021 assessment due to at home learning and the HSC being pushed back to start on 9th Nov, Tuesday, week 6. Large cohort examinations may be converted to in class examinations or tasks or not be held at all.
Learning reflections will occur for both Year 7 and 8 students and their year advisor’s will work with students in Guidance to outline expectations. The philosophy behind the learning reflections is to reflect on the year, the tasks completed and feedback provided to allow students to make goals for the following year.
UNIFORM
As a community we have been looking at the school uniform and invited comments. The result of this consultation is that there are a few items that will change and/or be added as described below:
Senior Girls Formal Shirt – the design will remain consistent with the current style, however, different materials will be investigated in order to increase both look and function;
Sports/PE Shirt –the base colour will change to navy blue. The material will also be modified to add functionality and comfort;
Track pants – a different style will be investigated, and will involve a different material which will lead to the item becoming more suitable for a range of purposes;
Boys Formal Shorts – different designs to be investigated aimed at making them more wearable;
Boys Sports Shorts – redesigned to make them suitable to be worn as sports or formal everyday shorts;
Jacket – Current jacket will be revised to add warmth and functionality to the item. Most likely a soft shell jacket will become an option as well as the traditional track style jacket; and
Pullover – A pullover item will be added to be worn as well as, or instead of, the jacket.
We are in the process of securing a new Licence Agreement for our School Uniform Shop to commence on 12 July 2022 for a 5 year period. Any changes to the uniform are unlikely to occur until that date. It will not be a requirement for students to purchase the updated uniform, however, the existing uniform items, described above, will not be sold after 11 July 2022.
If parents have any questions regarding students return to school, COVID restriction expectations, assessment or uniform please do not hesitate to contact your relevant DP.
